There are so many error codes may appear when windows 10 or its app face any problems. Error 0x80070003 is a very common one. Most of the time, It appears while trying to sync Mail and Calendar app or trying to update any windows store apps. Else, This error can be seen while doing any task in your PC or updating it. That means, There are no selected situations when you may encounter this issue. Personally, I faced it two times in two different moments.
When You May Face Error 0x80070003:
According to my personal experience, This error may appear while you trying sync with MS server. In my case, I faced it while syncing mail and calendar app and signing in with a local account instead of Microsoft account. In various forums, I found many peoples who faced it while updating any apps in windows store. Even some users have encountered it during windows update.
Fix Error 0x80070003 in Windows 10:
This is actually not a normal issue that can be fixed by following common methods. By the way, Here are the things, You can try to resolve this problem.
Use Troubleshooter for Error 0x80070003 in Mail and Calendar and Other Store Apps:
If you face this error during syncing process in any windows store apps, You can try it. I already mentioned that this error is mostly seen in mail and calendar app which is a store app. So, This method can resolve problem, If you are lucky.
- Open Start Menu and Type “Troubleshoot“. You will see the app “Troubleshooting“. Just click on it.
- Now, You will see a new window. In right sidebar, You will see an option called “View All“. Just click there.
- Then, Scroll down and fine the option called “Windows Store Apps” and open it.
- Click on Next and it will automatically detect issues and fix.
- After completing this process, Check if you are still facing error code 0x80070003.
Delete Temporary Update Files from Software Distribution Folder:
This method works perfectly, If you face this error code during any update process. You can temporarily stop windows update services. Then delete software distribution folder. But, I don’t recommend it. I suggest you to rename it. After doing it, Just restart windows update services. Here are the procedures.
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Type the following commands and hit Enter.
net stop wuauserv
ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old
net start wuauserv
After doing it, You may not encounter error 0x80070003 during windows update again.
Fix Registry Errors:
Sometimes, Registry errors cause this problem. In that case, You can use any trusted registry fixer. But, Don’t forget to backup registry before doing this process.
Create New User Account:
In many times, Error 0x80070003 can be an issue for only one user account in windows. Because, Somehow, Your user account may be corrupted. In that case, You can create new user account and make it admin. After doing it, Delete current account. But, Don’t forget to backup your personal data. In my case, This method worked. So, I think, It will work for you too.
Scan and Fix Corrupted System Files:
