When You Should Replace Your Laptop’s Battery:

Isn’t your high endurance laptop working like past months? Before your laptop’s battery gets fully drained or unable to hold the charge, you should replace that with a new one. Are you done with every tips and tricks- closing all the unwanted apps, dimming the brightness of the screen, turning off the entire antenna and many other attempts?  After a certain time, your high endurance laptop might fail to receive charge or unable stay awake without an adapter in. So, it is high time to know when you should replace your laptop’s battery.

Are you facing sudden shut down in your laptop frequently? Well, it is quite annoying. You should check out battery meter if it is holding charge properly. You should also check whether it is inserted properly or not. If the problem continues, you can contact manufacturer. If the manufacturer confirms that there is no issue to hold charge or inserted then you should know it is time to get a new laptop’s battery.

  1. Does Your Laptop’s Battery Produce Overheat?

My laptop gets little warm every time when I operate it for a long time. I guess it’s a normal thing also happening with you. Sometimes it can create overheat and in the worst scenario can catch fire. Even your laptop can encounter sudden shutdown or unable to charge due to generate excess heat. Unless you change your laptop’s battery, it has no solutions.

  1. Charging slowly or No Charge at All.

If your laptop isn’t getting charge even though it is plugged in, check if it the charger installed properly or not. Check the adapter and make sure it is working properly. If the battery still not runs, it may consider being dead. After a lot o, time it would inhale charges but very slowly or charge sometimes.

  1. Less RunTime than the Stated Duration.

Does your laptop die before the lifespan? Sometimes you would see there is much charge left to operate couple of hours but it died much before than the stated time. It’s one of a sign of dead battery. It’s also a time to find replacement as soon as possible.

  1. Have You Charged More Than 300-400 Cycles?

Most of the batteries start to lose its capacity or hold charge after 300-400 cycles.  You are not keeping track on how many times you are charging your laptop’s battery every week. Well, it’s not so hard to estimate. Guess how many times you charge it in a week and multiply it with the number of weeks you are using it. If the result is more than 300-400 cycles, so it is a high time for searching a new one.

  1. Is Your Battery Old Over 18 Months of Use?

It’s not a matter how much you are pampering your laptop battery. Everything in this world gets damaged due to using over time. All the rechargeable batteries also last until they have the capacity. Normal user’s laptop battery can vary run time 18 to 24 months. The more you use your laptop; you would realize drop away performance. So, it is a better choice if you decide to change your battery after 18 to 24 months use.

  1. Generate Battery Report in Windows.

Thankfully Windows has organized battery report option for its users. If you are someone who is using Windows operating system in the Laptop, there is an easy to know about your battery’s current status. Let’s know the steps.

  • Open Command Prompt by right clicking in the lower left corner of the screen.
  • Type powercfg /batteryreport and press enter in the Command prompt.
  • You will notice a message to let you know that a html file was saved to user folders.
  • Go to user folder and find the Battery Report file.
  • Double click on that and it will open in your browser.
